CompressBadger is a free online image compression and conversion tool. We provide:

• Image compression for JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and AVIF formats
• Image format conversion (e.g., HEIC to JPG, PNG to WebP)
• Batch processing capabilities
• Quality adjustment controls

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

User Responsibilities

Content Ownership

You retain all rights to images you upload to CompressBadger. By uploading images, you represent and warrant that:

• You own the images or have the right to use them
• Your images do not violate any third-party rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, etc.)
• Your images do not contain illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• You are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws

Prohibited Uses

You may not use CompressBadger to:

• Upload images you do not have the right to use
• Upload illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or offensive content
• Distribute malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the Service's security features
• Automate access to the Service in a way that causes excessive server load
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service

Service Availability

We strive to keep CompressBadger available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance
• Technical issues or server failures
• Force majeure events beyond our control

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• CompressBadger is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or quality of compressed images
• We are not liable for any data loss, corruption, or quality degradation
• We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed $10 USD

You use the Service at your own risk. Always keep backups of your original images.

Privacy and Data Handling

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Key points:

• Uploaded images are automatically deleted within 1 hour after processing
• We do not store, share, or sell your images
• We use Google Analytics to track anonymous usage statistics

Intellectual Property

CompressBadger's name, logo, design, and code are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.

The Service uses open-source software including Sharp, libvips, MozJPEG, and others. These components are licensed under their respective open-source licenses.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when Terms are modified.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violations of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict of law principles.
